Working across the Illawarra

Straightforward electrical work, explained before it starts.

Work across Wollongong and the wider Illawarra is mostly residential and mostly about bringing something up to where it should be. Lighting that was adequate twenty years ago. A switchboard with no protection on half the circuits. Smoke alarms that need replacing, or a property that needs an honest report on its electrical condition rather than a guess.

Because we travel to the Illawarra for booked work rather than passing through it, we are deliberate about scoping jobs properly. That means understanding what is involved before the day, telling you clearly what the work includes, and agreeing the price up front so nothing has to be renegotiated on site.

It also means being candid about what is worth doing. Not every old fitting needs replacing and not every fault needs a full rewire. Where a smaller piece of work solves the actual problem, that is what gets quoted.

What we get called for

What Illawarra jobs usually involve.

Grounded in the work we are asked for, without inventing volumes or timeframes.

Lighting brought up to date

LED replacements, better layouts for kitchens and living areas, and outdoor or sensor lighting where it is genuinely useful.

Switchboards and safety switch protection

Older boards reviewed, RCD protection added where circuits are missing it, and labelling that finally makes sense.

Smoke alarms and electrical reports

Photoelectric alarm installation, alarm replacement, and clear inspection reports for owners and property managers.

Ceiling and exhaust fans

Fans replaced or installed in new positions, including exhaust fans vented properly rather than into the roof space.

More power points, in better positions

Additional outlets, USB points, dimmers, and switches relocated to where they are actually reached for.

Faults that need tracing

Tripping circuits, flickering lights and dead outlets, diagnosed properly before anything is replaced.

Installations with an awkward path

Difficult cable routes, restricted roof access and positions that need planning before they can be quoted.

Difficult installations

Difficult installations are assessed, not dismissed.

Difficult installations

Double brick, masonry, tight roof spaces, hard-to-reach positions and concealed television power and data are all part of normal work rather than exceptions to it. What makes them difficult is rarely the electrical side, it is the path the cable has to take and what has to be opened to get it there.

We will work out the route first and give you a straight answer about what is practical. If a job has already been knocked back by someone else, it is worth a second look, though we will not claim every difficult installation can be completed. You will know what is realistic before you are committed to anything.

  • Double brick and masonry walls
  • Tight or restricted roof spaces
  • Difficult cable paths between areas
  • Concealed television power and data
  • Hard-to-reach fitting positions
  • Second opinions on knocked-back jobs
